Why attend?
Pursue the Lord with other Christians
"But flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" - 2 Timothy 2:22 Christian life is not meant to be lived alone! We need one another. Each one of us is a member of the Body of Christ. Although individually we can have the Lord's presence, this presence is not as great or as powerful as His presence in the corporate meetings of the believers. At this camp we can connect with many other young people with whom we will be able to pursue Christ like it says in 2 Timothy 2. |
Listen to God's Word and sing hymns of praise
"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16 A normal Christian life should be one that is filled with the word, that the Spirit may bubble over with praise and lauding melodies from within the believers. Come and enjoy God's Word together at this camp. |
Many opportunities to enjoy God with others
"God has blended the body together..." 1 Corinthians 12:24 This is the age of the Body, for God has blended us together. In addition to ministry meetings, there will be many fun activities (eating together, hiking, team activities, etc) for us to fellowship with one another in informal relaxed settings. |
Looking away unto Jesus
"Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith..." Hebrews 12:2 The wonderful Jesus is the greatest attraction in the universe. He is like an immense magnet, drawing all His seekers to Him. It is by being attracted by His charming beauty that we look away from all things other than Him. Without such a charming object, how could we look away from so many distracting things on this earth. |
The cumulative effect of getting away from our daily grind (classes, assignments....), blending with members of the Body of Christ, singing our heart out to God, and receiving a concentrated dose of God's word can make a deep impression on us. There is something about being there in person that changes us.
